Tasked to develop a method to track individual repairable assets through its supply, maintenance and transportation systems as well as a centralized view of data for a component’s maintenance and usage history.

Through the National Electronic Commerce Resource Center (NECRC) program, developed a solution – the Serial Number Tracking System (SNTS).  The SNTS utilizes a comprehensive, Web-enabled application functioning as a portal directly accessing multiple maintenance and supply databases.

SNTS also includes a decision-support system automated messaging and alert capability.  SNTS facilitates the assessment of an asset’s location and status with respect to its maintenance plan and the consolidation of this information for logistics analysis.

This information is critical to inventory validity, spare parts decisions and the financial integrity of Navy inventory management.

One of nine Navy ManTech Centers of Excellence, the Navy Metalworking Center (NMC) is a national resource for the development and transition of advanced metalworking technologies.

The NMC applies cost-effective, state-of-the-art technologies to improve performance, address Navy manufacturing issues, enhance naval and DoD readiness, reduce acquisition and life-cycle costs and ensure the availability of dependable systems, capable of withstanding wartime demands.

Advanced metalworking technologies include casting, forming, powder metallurgy, and joining, as well as surface and heart treating.
