Developed under sponsorship by the US Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) and the Joint Chemical Defense school in Ft Leonard Wood, MO, Coalescent researched and documented NBCD training requirements, developed 3-D models for individual protective equipment (IPE), chemical agent detectors, and other specialized USMC fielded equipment. From this array of specialized models and behaviors, Coalescent developed detailed scenarios for highly specialized training and is working with the fleet users group for additional test and evaluation. Specific new interactive training capabilities include the test and proper operation of chemical agent detectors, the detection and marking of contaminated areas in the virtual terrain, and virtual performance of the proper steps for decontamination. This program is an excellent example demonstrating the inherent flexibility of the VBS1™ platform for use in diverse free-play synthetic cognitive skills training.
