Army National Guard's XCTC Concept
Highly Successful at Camp Atterbury
Orlando, Florida, August 1, 2006 - With Coalescent Technologies Corporation as one of the two major Prime contractors supporting the effort, the Army National Guard's (ARNG) flagship training program, the Exportable Combat Training Capability (XCTC) was successfully completed during July in Indiana at the Camp Atterbury Joint Maneuver Training Center and Muscatatuk Urban Training Center. Coalescent provided program management and acquisition support, subcontract management, planning support, and hands-on technical support for the Mobile Virtual Training Capability (MVTC™) assets aboard Camp Atterbury. Coalescent's two subcontractors, SRI International, and Cubic Applications provided the XCTC instrumentation as well as role players, scenario development, battlefield effects and other training support. The Guard's Distributed Battle Simulation Program (DBSP) personnel supported exercise and planning and exercise control activities.
The XCTC concept is an instrumented, battalion-sized field exercise designed to provide realistic, combined arms training in a Contemporary Operational Environment. Units from the Indiana National Guard supported July's evolution as part of their annual training along with active Army personnel in the role of the opposing force and evaluators. The XCTC concept allows training at a unit’s home station at a greatly reduced cost in comparison to a rotation at the National Training Center or the Joint Readiness Training Center.
