Orlando, FL.
March 28, 2006 –
Coalescent Technologies Corporation
released today more details of its
overarching pc-based simulation and
training initiative, the Mobile
Virtual Training Capability (MVTC™).
The MVTC™ is a turnkey training
solution that was designed to meet
the urgent need for an affordable
and mobile training solution that
focuses on force protection and
enhancing combat decision making
skills at the small unit level. The
MVTC™ consists of reconfigurable and
deployable hardware and a suite of
virtual training tools specifically
designed to meet the training
requirements of today’s deployed and
deploying forces as well as the need
for high quality, highly effective
training tools that are lost-cost,
and that can be quickly modified to
train against emerging threats or
new training requirements.
Coalescent’s MVTC™ has already proven
its value as a training and mission
rehearsal tool for Army National
Guardsmen preparing to deploy in
harm’s way, those currently
participating in the Global War on
Terrorism, and those called to
provide disaster relief. Based on
its training value and the
overwhelming acceptance by soldiers,
the MVTC™ and its core training
software has become a favored
training tool for small unit
operations, communications, and
decision-making. As the convoy and
IED threat have escalated, these
systems have become widely used for
combat convoy training and mission
rehearsal. In late 2005, the
Director of The Army National Guard
stated in a letter to Congress: “We
have received numerous positive
responses from Soldiers and
Commanders…These comments affirm
that it is an excellent training
tool…we would like to provide this
valuable training resource to all
Army National Guard units.”
The training software can be added
to or modified to address evolving
operational requirements. The
current MVTC™ configuration is:
-
The
Mobile Training Console (MTC)
- Training system hardware,
consisting of COTS computer
components in a deployable
transit case. Open it up, plug
it in, turn it on, and start
training.
-
Virtual battlefield simulation software
- Suite of software training tools that are installed and/or customized to meet customer specific training requirements. Current software suite includes training, rehearsal, and after action tools for Close Quarter Combat / MOUT operations, small unit movement and tactics, decision making training, and convoy operations.
-
Virtual Incident Management System (VIMS™) - Virtual training and decision-making software targeted for the first responders (police, fire, medical, and National Guard in their State mission) as well and the Chemical Biological Radiation & Nuclear (CBRN) response teams.
-
SINCGARS Training System (STS) - Hardware and software emulation of the SINCGARS radio and its operation to facilitate initial and refresher training for operators, maintainers, and incidental users.
-
The MVTC™ also includes a complete training and maintenance support package thus guaranteeing functionality and support.
The MVTC™
completed an initial proof of
concept evaluation and went into
limited fielding with the Army
National Guard in 2004 and 2005. The
Florida National Guard Simulation
Officer called it the “the next
generation of Distance Learning and
simulations training.” The
instructors at Army National Guard
Mobilization Centers have been
equally impressed and several States
have individually sought to procure
MVTC™ training suites. Additionally,
elements of the MVTC™ training
software are extensively used by the
United States Marine Corps for
convoy operations and small-unit
training.
