Orlando, FL. January 13, 2004
– The announcement was made
today that Coalescent Technologies
Corporation was awarded a multi-year
$6.8 million contract for the design
and delivery of the Marine Corps’
Radar Environmental Simulator (RES).
The Coalescent RES team is made up
of Coalescent and AAI Corporation.
The scope of the RES contract
includes fabrication, integration,
installation, test, demonstration,
and factory acceptance of a RES for
the Marine Corps’ AN/TPS-59(V)3
radar set. The system provides the
Marine Corps with the ability to
inject simulated Air Breathing
Targets (ABTs), Tactical Ballistic
Missile (TBM) targets, clutter, and
interference into the radar’s
processing system. This will allow
for extremely robust analysis in
determining the radar’s response to
specific threats in various
environments without a requirement
to physically move the system.
Additionally, the RES will provide
the Marine Corps the capability to
train, at the using unit level,
various ABT and TBM deployment
scenarios without the cost of having
to fly actual aircraft or launch
actual missiles.
