Coalescent Technologies Corporation
has been awarded an engineering
support services contract by the
Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft
Division (NAWC-AD) to provide AIT
requirements determination and
analysis; AIT systems design and
engineering; systems integration,
test, evaluation and installation;
life cycle support; and training
within the Department of the Navy.
This single award, $15.8M
engineering services contract will
provide NAWC-AD with the necessary
engineering and technical support
services required to augment NAWC-AD
program/project managers and
engineers in fulfilling DoD and
other customers’ tasking for the
development, test and evaluation,
deployment, and life cycle support
of AIT, AIT-related interface
systems, subsystems and equipment.
The Coalescent Team will provide
engineering and technical support
services to NAWC-AD in the analysis,
development and application of
leading edge AIT. AIT is a suite of
technologies which provides for the
automatic collection, storage,
retrieval, processing, transmission,
and receipt of data utilizing a
variety of equipment from simple
scanners connected to a desktop
computer, to sophisticated handheld
computers with integrated scanners,
to radios, microcircuit devices,
voice recognition, optical laser
cards, radio frequency-based
identification technologies, and
satellite-based transportation
tracking. The Coalescent Team will
provide systems engineering services
to develop new AIT systems, enhance
existing AIT systems, and/or augment
existing business processes through
the integration of AIT both ashore
and afloat. Commercial-Off-The-Shelf
(COTS)/Government-Off-The-Shelf (GOTS)
equipment incorporation is mandatory
in providing the latest capabilities
to NAWC-AD customers. The Coalescent
Team is composed of six firms,
including industry leaders with
extensive engineering support
experience and a proven ability to
find new ways of using technology to
solve the Navy’s most complex AIT
challenges. Team members include SRA
International, Inc., Logistics
Management Institute (LMI),
Logmation, Inc., MacSema, Inc., and
Unisys Corporation.
