In 2006, Coalescent established an operational Ion Mobility Spectrometry Laboratory (IMS), which conducts research, development, and maintenance of Ion Mobility based Chemical Agent, Toxic Industrial Chemical (TIC), and Toxic Industrial Material (TIM) detection and monitoring equipment developed for Military and Homeland Defense agencies worldwide.

This full-service facility is staffed with personnel experienced in the design, manufacture, and life-cycle support of chemical detection equipment developed by major manufacturers.

Radiological Services

Coalescent Technologies holds a Radioactive Materials License through the State of Florida that permits storage and maintenance of equipment containing radioactive sources. In addition, we are equipped to provide periodic assessment for removable radiation and have the capability for processing outside samples using a Perkin Elmer TriCarb Liquid Scintillation Counter.

Equipment Maintenance

Our IMS lab employs OEM diagnostic principles and equipment combined with the latest automated testing systems to diagnose, repair and calibrate the wide-variety of IMS equipment in use today.

In addition to the sophisticated processes and equipment used to repair IMS equipment, we provide and maintain detailed Maintenance Reporting data as a service to our customers. This service includes: Diagnostic History, Parts Replacement History, Radiological Data, and Shipment History.

Product Improvement

Our IMS lab is contracted to support ongoing efforts to analyze and improve the performance of existing IMS equipment through participation in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) for the US Government. The close interaction with these groups aids our staff in providing innovative maintenance solutions to our customers and the IMS industry.

With this insight, we have made significant improvements in parts manufacturing and reconditioning processes for IMS equipment which equates to higher post maintenance product quality and reduced maintenance cost for item managers over the life of IMS systems.
